Chapter 11 – Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover
Qi Yichen gently smiled, he already knew that he could keep them away.
“Who are you?” A soldier spotted Qi Yichen and stopped him.
Qi Yichen gave him a faint smile, “This one is called Qi Yichen, may I ask what you are looking for?”
“Have you seen Gu Manor’s Third Miss, Gu Qingyu?” The soldier’s tone softened when he saw Qi Yichen’s angelic smile.
Qi Yichen casually pointed his fingers, “I think she went that way.”
“Many thanks, Young Master.” The folks of Gu Manor weren’t really bad people. They cupped their fists and ran towards the direction where he pointed.
Qi Yichen smiled and left.
Just as the remaining soldiers arrived outside the room, a beautiful and coquet man, dressed in red, walked out of the room, “Have you seen…” The soldiers stopped in mid-sentence, “Ah! Lord Xue Zang!”
“What’s it?” The man flirtatiously smiled at them.
“Nonono! Nothing at all!” They immediately fled the scene.
The one called “Xue Zang” shook his head and mumbled to himself, “Did they have to run like that? It’s not like I eat people……”
Jia Qizhe and the gang arrived at the small stream in the bamboo forest. They sat down and rested by the river as they waited for Qi Yichen.
Sure enough, Qi Yichen didn’t disappoint and arrived shortly at the brook.
“Let’s go then!” Gu Qingyu suddenly started to feel really impatient to reach their destination.
“Qingyu, can you fly?” asked Qi Yichen suddenly.
“What?” Gu Qingyu looked puzzled at Qi Yichen.
“It’s a bit far from here, so we must take flight.” Jia Qizhe gave Gu Qingyu a disdainful look, “Could it be that you don’t know how to fly?”
“Umm…” I really don’t know. “I…” Gu Qingyu didn’t know how to reply.
“It’s fine. Qingyu, I’ll take you with me.” Qi Yichen gently laughed.
“Perfect! Since we’re four, two per team.” Jia Qizhe glanced at Gu Qingyu, and told Qi Yichen, “You take the other one.”
“I refuse!” Gu Qingyu immediately retreated, “Jia Qizhe, I’m afraid of heights! You take Xiao Qi!”
As they were speaking, Qi Yichen had already spread out a pair of wide white wings. He grabbed Gu Qingyu and took off.
Jia Qizhe curled his lips and followed closely.
However, just as he took flight, he inadvertently looked back.
He unraveled a pair of wide blue wings, and took off as well.
Behind a tree, a red piece of clothing revealed itself.
In the sky.
Gu Qingyu tightly shut her eyes. Qi Yichen was pulling her arm, while her feet dangled loosely in midair, “I’d like to ask for everyone to go ahead and image the feeling of just dangling in the sky!!”
She turned her head to see how Jia Qizhe’s side managed; In contrast to her, Xiao Qi looked very happy and content.
If she knew that his flight abilities were so good, she would’ve gone with him from the start!!
A myriad of regrets took place in Gu Qingyu’s heart.
“Qingyu, what’s up?” asked Qi Yichen.
What’s up?? Are you asking me ‘what’s up’?!
She angrily replied, “Nothing, hurry and move along!”
After a period of time, Qi Yichen couldn’t help himself, “Qingyu, why don’t you rest for a while on my fan??”
“Fan?” Gu Qingyu suddenly had a bad feeling, a very bad bad one!
Qi Yichen waved his hand, in an instant, a large fan appeared under Gu Qingyu’s feet. He withdrew his wings and landed on the fan. The fan glided through the wind.
“!!”” Gu Qingyu suddenly realized, “Although Qi Yichen’s outward appearance looks innocent and harmless, comparable to that of a descendant of the gods; His true self is a two-faced, mischievous, big bad wolf!!”
Gu Qingyu listlessly waved her hands. She clenched her teeth, “Thank you-ah, really!”
“Don’t be so polite, Qingyu.” replied Qi Yichen as he gently smiled at her.
“…” I’m utterly defeated.
Gu Qingyu rolled her eyes at him unhappily.
Jia Qizhe summoned a sword, and stood on it together with Xiao Qi for the rest of the flight.
It gradually began to get darker as they arrived at the foot of the mountain.
By the time they landed, the skies were completely covered by stars.
“Why don’t we continue flying up?” She looked at Qi Yichen doubtfully, the bad feelings started to rise again.
“It’s quite straining to keep on flying for so long,” Qi Yichen’s eyes lit up, “But also, there are many monsters on the mountain, so flying during the night can be quite risky. It’s more convenient to go on foot anyways!”
… Convenient?! Gu Qingyu pouted, “Let’s go then.”
“Huh, Qingyu, you actually agreed?” said Qi Yichen in a shocked manner.
Hey! Can you stop being so transparent!
“So?*” Gu Qingyu rolled her eyes unhappily, “You thought I would pick the other alternative?”
“No, not at all.” said Qi Yichen innocently.
“That’s right.” She pulled Xiao Qi to her side and started walking up the mountains, while glaring at Qi Yichen.
Jia Qizhe summoned a sword and followed behind them slowly.
Qi Yichen summoned his fan as well, and caught up with them.
No one said anything during the trip up, and the mood turned very awkward.
All of a sudden, something flashed past Qingyu’s eyes. Jia Qizhe’s sword immediately shot out a blue ray of light.
Oblivious to what just happened, Gu Qingyu looked at Jia Qizhe while he leisurely put away his sword.
Gu Qingyu stared blankly at Jia Qizhe, “What was that just now?”
“Nothing much. A monster suddenly showed up, merely a tiger spirit.” Jia Qizhe chuckled nonchalantly.
Gu Qingyu had a face that said “I was shocked at the time”, “Yo-you’re saying that you just got rid of a tiger spirit?!”
“Yeah, what else?” Jia Qizhe tilted his head and looked at her.
Gu Qingyu, “…”
“Nothing to be surprised at, Jia Qizhe has quite the reputation.” said Qi Yichen with a faint smile.
“Ah~ I forgot to tell you,” Jia Qizhe suddenly began to grin sinisterly, “I really like to slay monsters, especially cat demons~”
“Uhh…” Gu Qingyu started to feel uneasy She immediately feigned laughter, “Oh really? Ahahaha, what an interesting hobby you got there~ Am I right, Qi Yichen?”
Since Qi Yichen had no clue she was a cat demon, he certainly wouldn’t ‘let the cat out of the bag’!
“That’s right,” Qi Yichen smiled, “Why don’t we go together some other day, and catch a few cat demons for Jia Qizhe as training dummies!”
“… Stop talking or you’ll die prematurely one day!” Gu Qingyu suddenly had the urge to slap herself in the face.
“Heheheh!” Gu Qingyu laughed bitterly.
As they quickly traveled up the mountain, a “certain” somebody whose endurance was not so high began complaining.
“Argh! I can’t walk anymore!” Gu Qingyu leaned on Xiao Qi’s shoulders with a miserable and exhausted expression. She let out the umpteenth sigh, “Why is the mountain so tall! Why is everything so hard!”
Jia Qizhe and Qi Yichen, both very “naturally” ignored Gu Qingyu.
Gu Qingyu saw that her old methods didn’t work anymore, so she fiercely ran in front of Jia Qizhe, and then ruthlessly fell on the ground…
