volaretranslations welcomes Cultivation Chat Group!

It’s with great fondness and pride that I welcome the novel Cultivation Chat Group to volareTL, translated by our very own Premonition!

Those of you who read any of my novels will already be familiar with Premonition — he’s one of the fantastic editors who works on SOTR. For those of you unfamiliar, Premonition is a fantastic guy who first started off translating My Wife is a Beautiful CEO, and one day threw a link to me on Discord. I went “Eh? What’s this?” and started paging through some of the chapters. I was ever so slightly confused in the beginning because I was reading about a… chatroom, but a quick development in chapter one really caught my interest, and I breathlessly devoured 10 chapters in one go, dropping everything I was doing.

CCG is hilariously funny, well written and translated, and off the beaten path! I literally laughed out loud several times. From the novel’s synopsis:

On a certain day, Song Shuhang accidentally joined a deeply afflicted Xianxia chuunibyou (Year 2 middle school disease) chat group, the group members inside all address each other as ‘fellow daoist’. Their contact cards are all either Sect Master, Cave Master, Spiritual Master or Heavenly Expert. Even the group master’s missing pet dog named Great Devil Dog abandoned his home. They chat all day about things like concocting pills, intruding mysterious territories, martial arts experiences and more.

One day, he abruptly realizes after lurking for a long time that…… In this group, every single group member is actually a real cultivator, with the ability to move mountains and drain seas, the kind that can live for thousands of years!

Ah ah ah ah, My worldview has utterly collapsed in a single night!

Please join me in a warm welcome for Premonition and CCG! There are currently five CCG chapters out, with Premonition doing two chapters a week for his release schedule. Come be an original reader. 😀 (shout out to the original readers role on Discord)

This also marks the beginning of new ventures with volaretranslations, six months after the site was started. I’d like to turn the hub into a small gathering of quality novels with off the beaten path stories. This is but the beginning, with more novels coming later this month. Come join us, whether as a translator, editor, or reader!
